And sure enough, sources say that New Moon broke the all-time midnight box office record, raking in $26.27M from 3,514 theaters and toppling out The Dark Knight's $18.4M midnight debut for a 3-day weekend.     I’ve been traveling and checking into hotel rooms and catching up with friends that I haven’t seen in a while… so while I could have posted this yesterday, I didn’t get to it until today. I saw the film at a pre-screening on Wednesday and at a corporate event yesterday evening around 9 pm (which was cool since the crowds for the midnight shows were insane!!!).     If you didn’t see the movie yet, click on the comments at your own peril. Unsurprisingly, critics don’t like it. The one issue we thought was rather funny that many of them brought up is that they thought it was poorly paced whereas it’s not a flaw that we see, though there are others (Alice’s vision, anyone?). Also of note, is that many of the critics are guys. Is it a Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus thing?     Yes folks, I’ve watched the movie and I absolutely LOVED IT!! It’s actually better than the first movie, Twilight. It has more action and the effects were awesome. All you guys would have to check it out. I was actually given a pair of complimentary tickets for the premiere showing last Thursday… but was not able to attend the premiere because of some family events. Luckily my sister was able to get hold of some exclusive tickets for Friday screening from La Salle. Awesome

    so tonight i went to see new moon…….. i know, how unlikely. i enjoyed it a bit more than twilight – partly because i was laughing the whole way through, partly due to the reaction of the crowd – and also it did look quite nice at times. i’ve been avoiding any talk of the soundtrack, just noticing but not following headlines on pitchfork about thom yorke and death cab contributing. to be fair, thom’s track is quite amazing. in other thom-related news, i picked up the collection of his remixes (or rmxs) the other day – i know i’m two years late on…

    Vanity Fair sent over this great video of Twilight: New Moon’s vampires, werewolves, and director dishing on  their acting methods, on-set bonding, and going barefoot for interviews. The wolves have such a different energy from the other actors. It’s so great to see how different everyone is, yet in the end each type of personality contributes so well to the final product.

    Apparently Kristen Stewart started the rumor that she was a lesbian, which got turned into a huge deal, that i didn't know about!
